Rage Game

Award: Coup de Cœur du Jury

A new game jam (my favorite so far)
TAB was created during the ICAN x MSI Game Jam
under the theme "Countdown".

While a classic ticking clock was the obvious route, we deliberately steered
clear of a simple timer. Instead, the countdown became
an unforgiving laptop battery slowly bleeding out while you
desperately try to deploy a hotfix before 5 PM on a Friday.
This core concept was something that had been lingering in my mind since
my very first game jam, and this event
provided the ideal opportunity to finally bring it to life.
Game Design Intentions
Player frustration: Replicating every modern digital annoyance
(Ads, captchas, intrusive pop-ups)
The MultiTasking Dilemma: The core loop creates a constant
push-and-pull between two conflicting objectives
We were glad to have a working game with a few hours to spare. We used them
to polish the game and have fun while creating more fake ads!

After adding a few mini games, some videos, a main menu
and some polish, we were proud to present our game,
Totally Accurtate Burnout!
Our work paid off, as we won the "Coup de coeur" award
but most importantly, we saw many people rage on our game!
Our design was conveying the right emotion…
More on what I did
During this jam I had a few roles :
Designing the game's main toy mechanic
Implementing new mini games
Programming the core gameplay system
Planning and setting the workflow
During this jam I learned to work with the biggest team yet.
